THE PACKING

Once the bunches have spent enough time hydrating in the coolers, they are ready to be packed. The staff in charge of this operation have also the obligation to check that the quality of the product, in case it doesn’t respond to our standards and characteristics, the bunches will be set aside.

The packing room is at 1 degree Celsius, and once packed, the flowers will stay in this room until they are loaded on our truck to be distributed to the different freight forwarders in Quito.

The packing is done in Ecuanros S.A. boxes. There are TABACO and QUARTER boxes, depending on the needs of the customers. Two TABACO boxes or four-QUARTER boxes form a FULL. A full box from Ecuanros weights around 22 Kg. .

All of boxes have a security seal with the farm logo as well as straps with our telephone numbers to guarantee security for our customers.

The number of bunches fitting in a tabaco box depend on the variety and stem length, but generally we apply the following rule:

All our staff working in the coolers is equipped with thermal boots and clothes, which keep them protected from the cold and allow them to work safely.
